  • Describe sources of noise and control noise pollution through the use of Hearing Protection Devices.
  • Understand the importance of compliance to safety, health and environmental legal and other requirements for a specific workplace and the importance of integrating safety, health and environmental considerations into all routine activities at the workplace.
  • Explain the concept of Occupational Hygiene in the working place.
  • Describe recognised environmental factors which influence workplace conditions.
  • Explain the maintenance of acceptable occupational hygiene conditions in the work place.
  • Explain how to deal with abnormal occupational hygiene conditions in the work place.

  • Explain the duties of both the employees and employers with regard to Occupational Safety and Heath in the workplace. Learners will be able to understand the requirements that apply to persons entering the workplace and performing any duties therein as well as the requirements for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), housekeeping and emergency procedures that apply to the workplace
